Addictions

My specialization in addictions and recovery includes behavioral, psychosocial and spiritual (though not necessarily religious) approaches. In particular, for over 20 years I have integrated the neurobehavioral model of addiction treatment with the experiential (and relational) perspectives of gestalt therapy. I use a stages of change model for clients who are ambivalent about their addiction problems.   I strongly support the 12-Step model of recovery and, when appropriate, include the underlying principles of these programs in my work. Because of my background as an attorney, I have special interest in working  with attorney-clients troubled with addiction issues.
